Arizona: SpaceX Hosts Cochise County Meeting on Proposed Six-Gigawatt Data Center Filed Under Tombstone Resources LLC
SpaceX hosted a community meeting on Wednesday evening about a proposed data center in rural Cochise County, Arizona, Arizona’s Family reported. The project, near the Apache Generating Station along U.S. Highway 191, would cover approximately 747 acres and include nine data center buildings for artificial intelligence. A special use application filed with the county under Tombstone Resources LLC says the facility would require up to 6,000 megawatts of electricity at full build-out. The application names Tombstone Resources LLC as the applicant, and the station reports that the relationship between it and SpaceX is unclear. The Cochise County Planning and Zoning Commission is scheduled to hold a formal public hearing on Dec. 9.
