Democrats Win Control of the Senate, CBS News Reports
CBS News reported on November 3, 2026 that “Democrats won control of the Senate in the 2026 elections.” “Democrats were projected to flip seats in Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Ohio, Kansas and Iowa,” CBS wrote. Before the election Republicans held 53 seats and Democrats 47, so Democrats needed four seats for the majority.
“The size of Democrats’ majority remains to be seen.” This is a projection by news organizations; RAMM does not call races. Alaska, Maine and Michigan were still being counted when this entry was written.
