Seminole County Reissues Over 500 Mail Ballots; Supervisor Says Voters Waited, USPS Reports No Delays

Seminole County’s Supervisor of Elections Amy Pennock said her office issued over 500 replacement ballots for voters who had not received their ballots in the mail, WKMG reports in a story the Orlando Sentinel ran on November 1, 2026. Pennock gave one example of a ballot that took seven days to go from her office in Sanford to a voter in Sanford.

The cause of the issue remains unclear, the report says. A Postal Service spokesperson’s statement says local management reports “no delays in our processing or delivery facilities for Seminole County.” Citing the Sun Sentinel, the report says Broward County supervisor Joe Scott heard from residents about “unusually long delays.” Supervisors in Brevard, Lake, Orange, Osceola, and Volusia counties told WKMG they were not seeing similar issues.

Ballots are due by 7 p.m. on Tuesday. Pennock said: “go vote in person.” The report says that on Election Day a voter must turn the ballot in at the county elections office or surrender it at the polling place and vote a regular ballot.
