Argentina's Migration Agency Says Flávio Bolsonaro Crossed at Puerto Iguazú at 10:50 p.m. ART Oct. 27 and Boarded a Baires Fly Jet for Guayaquil, After Brazil's Passport Order
Argentina’s Dirección Nacional de Migraciones says Sen. Flávio Bolsonaro, his wife and their two daughters entered Argentina at 22:50 ART (UTC-3, the same clock as Brasília time) on Tue. Oct. 27 over the Tancredo Neves bridge from Foz do Iguaçu to Puerto Iguazú, with “documentación hábil de viaje sin ningún impedimento legal para el ingreso al país.” At 23:30 the party boarded a private flight “despachado por la compañía Baires Fly S.A” whose flight plan listed Guayaquil, Ecuador. The agency posted the statement at 2:01 a.m. ART on Wed. Oct. 28, after saying on the morning of Oct. 27 that it had no record of his entry (disclosure date; the events are Oct. 27).
What the statement does not contain: the aircraft type or registration, the takeoff time, or who arranged the trip. Ámbito identifies the jet as a Gulfstream G400, LV-JQW, and puts takeoff from Puerto Iguazú at 00:21 on Oct. 28; Infobae had reported that aircraft waiting at Puerto Iguazú on Oct. 27, before the departure. Per records cited by the press, it reached Guayaquil at 5:46 ART and CNN Brasil reports a landing at Opa-locka executive airport near Miami at 10:31 Brasília time. elDiarioAR notes the statement says nothing about who organized the transfer or any role for the Argentine government. No Ecuadorian statement was found.
The crossing came after Brazil’s order. Justice Alexandre de Moraes had ordered the passports surrendered and barred him from leaving Brazil (see the Oct. 26 entry); the Federal Police cancelled his Brazilian passports after the Tue. noon BRT deadline passed (Brazil’s public news agency, Oct. 27, 12:52 BRT), about ten hours before the crossing. The documents used at the border are not stated by Migraciones. The US State Department said it would issue visas to him and his family; CNN Brasil notes that this is not asylum.
As of Oct. 28 morning, PT deputies had asked Moraes for preventive arrest and an Interpol red notice (a party filing; no ruling reported), and no arrest warrant, Interpol notice, or statement from Bolsonaro or his lawyers had been reported in the sources read. The wife and daughters are not named here.
