Trump Offers $1 Million Reward for Voter-Fraud Reports Leading to Arrest and Conviction; White House Gives No Funding Details

President Trump said on Monday (the date of his post and remarks) that he is offering a $1 million reward for reports of voter fraud, in past elections or the upcoming midterms, that lead to a conviction, ABC News reported. In a Truth Social post on Monday he wrote: “Anybody reporting Voter Fraud in the past Elections, or the upcoming 2026 Midterm Election, will be paid $1,000,000 upon the arrest and conviction of those that created the Fraud.” Before boarding Air Force One for a Mississippi rally he told reporters: “I’m also going to be issuing a $1m bonus or reward, or whatever you want to call it, for anybody that reports voter fraud, leading to the arrest and conviction of somebody,” the Guardian reported.

ABC reports that it is not clear where the money would come from and that the White House would not provide any additional details. The offer is separate from the Justice Department’s fraud whistleblower program announced the week before (2026-10-20–doj-whip-fraud-whistleblower-incentive-program-announced-25m-treasury-30k-awards-trump-arbitrator), which ABC says pays a 1% commission of the money recovered.

For comparison, the Guardian recalls that in 2020 Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick offered $25,000 for election-fraud tips; per the Washington Post in 2021, a payout went to a Democratic poll worker in Pennsylvania whose tip led to the conviction of a 72-year-old Republican for voting twice.
