DOJ Announces Charges Involving 48 Aliens Including the 28 California Defendants Charged a Week Earlier
On Monday, Oct. 26, 2026 (release date), the Justice Department’s Office of Public Affairs announced charges involving 48 aliens in Pennsylvania, California, Florida, New York, and Nevada in connection with illegal voting, fraudulent voter registration, and related election crimes. By our count from the release’s district sections, 28 of the 48 are California defendants. They match the 28 the Justice Department’s California release said were charged in criminal complaints; that release’s Acting Deputy Attorney General said each of the 28 appears on the list of more than 20,000 likely noncitizen registrants DOJ provided to California officials. The Oct. 26 release does not repeat that statement or mention the list. The rest are in Pennsylvania, Florida, New York and Nevada; district counts and defendant classes are in the gate note. The release says a complaint, indictment and information merely contain accusations. This entry does not name the defendants.
