Rep. Thompson Letter Demands Mullin Stop DHS Door-Knocking, Calling It Voter Intimidation
Rep. Bennie G. Thompson, ranking member of the House Committee on Homeland Security, wrote to DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin on October 21, 2026, demanding the “immediate cessation” of “law enforcement activity aimed at intimidating the public.” Citing a CBS News report published that day, the letter says agents are going door-to-door relying on a “Target List,” and concludes: “It is voter intimidation.” It tells Mullin he “must cease these illegal tactics immediately.” The committee Democrats released the letter on October 22, 2026.
Thompson signed as ranking member and copied the committee’s chairman, Andrew R. Garbarino.
