Gov. Sherrill Answers the House Subpoena With a Statement Calling It "Political Theater" 13 Days Before the Midterms
Governor Mikie Sherrill issued a statement on Oct. 21, 2026 about the House subpoena to her Department of State. She said “Washington Republicans are choosing to play political games just thirteen days before the midterm elections,” and called the subpoena “political theater.” She said her administration has “been transparent every step of the way” on the Motor Vehicle Commission registration issue.
