ProPublica: FBI Purge Ended the Navatek Capitol Hill Bribery Probe
ProPublica reported on October 20, 2026, that the investigation sparked by the revelations of Navatek CEO Martin Kao “is dead” after the dismantling of the FBI’s public-corruption work. Kao told the FBI that the late Sen. Lindsey Graham asked him to pledge $100,000 in donations and agreed to steer a $10 million government contract Navatek’s way. Those are Kao’s claims to agents. Kao pleaded guilty in 2022 and was sentenced to 87 months in prison. Graham’s communications director wrote that “any allegations of quid-pro-quo behavior or wrongdoing by the late Senator Lindsey Graham or his staff are simply false.” Sen. Susan Collins’ office “vigorously” denies Kao’s allegations about her, calling them “outlandish.” No lawmaker has been charged in anything read here.
