Little Rock Board of Directors Rejects Six-Month Data Center Moratorium on a Tied Vote, Its Second Failure

The Little Rock City Board of Directors failed on a 4-4 vote on Tuesday night to pass a six-month moratorium on data center projects (Arkansas Times). Six votes are needed to pass an ordinance. The board took up the issue in August, when some members tried to pass a longer moratorium (see the linked earlier entry). Ward 2 Director Ken Richardson was absent and Position 9 Director Antwan Phillips abstained (KATV). Director Capi Peck, listed on the agenda handout as a co-sponsor, was one of the no votes (Arkansas Times).

This corrects the earlier tracker pass, which found no October vote: a vote did take place that week, and it failed.

Source note: press accounts only; the board agenda and minutes were not retrieved. The entry date is the meeting night as the Arkansas Times dates its post.
