ICE Revised Justification Puts Amentum's Camp East Montana Contract at $2.8 Billion; Subaward Records Show Amentum and Akima Under Acquisition Logistics

Project Salt Box reported a revised ICE justification for the Camp East Montana contract held by Amentum Services Inc. at Fort Bliss. The outlet puts the estimated value at $2.8 billion; the table in the published document is the source of that rounded figure. The date above is the press-reporting date, because the justification’s own signature and date blocks are blank in the published copy.

The justification says the increase does not change the underlying sole source basis. That basis is Amentum’s “ownership and operational control of the facility infrastructure”, and Amentum “was the only company that expressed interest”. The justification does not describe Amentum as a subcontractor to Acquisition Logistics, and the March special notice on SAM.gov does not either. Salt Box says Amentum had been a subcontractor to Acquisition Logistics, and the claim is the outlet’s.

Federal subaward records filed by the prime contractor (USAspending, unaudited) list both firms under Acquisition Logistics. On the ICE transfer award, Amentum is listed at $184,179,785.58 and Akima Global Services at $74,231,378.43. The records give neither scope nor personnel, so they do not say who staffed which function during the deaths. The Army task order lists the same firms. The records likely overlap and are not additive.
