NYT: Musk Has Given $276 Million to Republican Groups Since July, About $366 Million This Cycle
The New York Times reported on October 12, 2026 that Elon Musk has funneled more than $276 million into Republican groups and his super PAC since the start of July. Representatives for Musk supplied the previously unreported figures to the Times, so the amounts are the donor’s own, not yet checked against filings. The Times puts his giving for this election cycle at about $366 million and calls him “by far the largest known donor in the midterms”.
According to his team, $158 million of the summer’s giving went to the Senate Leadership Fund. He also donated over $76 million to America PAC, which spent that much on a canvassing program; America PAC officials say it deployed nearly 3,000 paid canvassers last week and has knocked on about 6.5 million doors. The remaining amounts: $20 million to the Congressional Leadership Fund, $10 million to Lone Star Liberty PAC (a group supporting Ken Paxton, the Republican nominee for Senate in Texas), $10 million to the Republican Governors Association and $2 million to the Republican Attorneys General Association. The Times reports he has given even more in undisclosed donations.
