Tina Peters' lawyer Peter Ticktin tells Joe Oltmann her plan is to 'grab' ballots and hand-recount, and that Trump 'is not going to relinquish control again' in a 'nightmare' scenario

On 2026-10-01 (post date; the episode title says 09.30.26) Joe Oltmann posted a livestream titled “RERUN-Joe Oltmann Untamed | Joe’s Conversation W/ Peter Ticktin: Standing In The Gap | 09.30.26”. In it, Tina Peters’ attorney Peter Ticktin said of Peters: “grab, get control over the ballots as soon as the machines spit them through and then do a recount”. He called it “It’s a good plan.” and said that in a “nightmare” scenario “Donald Trump is not going to relinquish control again”. He also said “martial law with our side in control of the armaments” would be better than civil war. Kyle Clark, a Colorado television reporter, posted the clip, and the New Republic summarized it the same day: “her attorney says the plan involves seizing ballots nationwide”.

What this is and is not. Newsweek reports: “There is no evidence Peters asked Trump to seize ballots directly”. The White House said: “We do not comment on private meetings that may or may not have happened.” Ed Martin said Peters was “in the Oval Office meeting with the president on election integrity”. Ticktin added: “I don’t see how it could be orchestrated.”

The ballot-grab version appears only in the podcast, not in the written plan on Peters’ own site. A signal to watch through the November general election, not an operative step.
