FBI Posts a Sole-Source Justification Naming UFC for Agent Combat Training (Notice of Intent, Not an Award)

The FBI’s Professional Services Acquisition Unit posted a Special Notice on SAM.gov titled Sole Source Justification - Defense Tactical Technical Training, attaching a redacted justification for a sole-source training contract with the UFC. The justification says: “Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is uniquely qualified to provide these services to the FBI based upon the following:” It adds: “The trainers provided by UFC have the skills necessary to instruct striking techniques, grappling/takedowns, weapon defense, ground control, as well as conditioning to the standard that the FBI expects and requires.”

Dates, by kind. This entry is dated by the SAM.gov posting date (the date field above), which is neither the press date nor the date on the document. The justification document itself is dated 06/02/2026.

Authority and term. The document says “Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements”, and “The period of performance will be for a one (1) year base.” On market research it says “only one vendor was found who could meet all the requirements in the PWS”.
