CBP Signs $20 Million 'National Media Campaign' Order With LMD Agency; 'Paid for by the U.S. Government' Trump Ads Follow
USAspending.gov lists a Department of Homeland Security contract call, described as “NATIONAL MEDIA CAMPAIGN,” awarded by U.S. Customs and Border Protection to LMD Agency, Inc., with a date signed of September 20, 2026 (award signing date; the court order below calls it the purchase order date) and a total obligation of $20,000,000. It is a call under an existing U.S. Coast Guard blanket purchase agreement. The record does not say what the campaign advertised.
What the ads were, per reporting
CNN reported that the administration had created at least 13 campaign-style ads, each ending with “Paid for by the U.S. Government,” and that a total of $20 million had been allocated. CNN’s early AdImpact estimate of money already spent was at least $5.6 million. By the Monday after the restraining order, CBS reported that AdImpact showed $21,705,138 spent on the five ads that carried the disclaimer on air. The $20 million and the AdImpact numbers measure different things: $20 million is the amount obligated or allocated, and the AdImpact figures are a third-party tally of airings, which AdImpact says may not match actual spending because the White House classed the ads as public service announcements.
A White House spokesperson said, “These public service announcements are about reminding Americans to love their country and understand what makes it worth defending, at home, at our borders, and abroad.” CNN reported that the “Final Battle” ad carried a version of a Trump campaign video with an additional six seconds on the Truth Social version, which included Trump’s campaign logo and a number to text.
Which ads were religious
The ad titled “God Made Trump” was, per CNN, broadcast during Republicans’ midterm convention in Dallas. It is not among the ads the court order named as the challenged advertisements: the order lists “The Country He Loves, Celebrating the Enduring Spirit, Final Battle, To the Great Proud People of Iran, and Maduro.” Whether “God Made Trump” aired on broadcast or cable television under the government disclaimer is not established by the sources read here.
