Texas SOS Refers 117 Cases to the AG and Concedes 578 of 2,724 SAVE-Flagged Voters Proved Citizenship

The Texas Secretary of State’s office “referred 117 cases to the Office of the Attorney General for investigation of potential noncitizen voting,” per its own release dated September 15, 2026. The release says the office’s SAVE run “identified 2,724 potential noncitizens on the voter rolls,” that “578 voters demonstrated citizenship” on later review, and that for 506 of them citizenship was proven because “passport information was added to SAVE after the state’s initial run.” Counties were advised to reinstate those registrations “if they were removed.”

For the federal-list question: the release dates the run to the previous fall and describes it as the agency’s own query of its voter file, so this is a state-run SAVE check and not a DHS or DOJ list sent to Texas. The release does not say how many of the flagged registrations counties removed, or how the referred cases relate to the others. Voters on the list stay unnamed.
