Stop AAPI Hate Launches a Disaggregated ICE Tracker Documenting a Sharp Rise in Arrests of Asian and Pacific Islander Immigrants

Stop AAPI Hate launched an A/PI ICE Tracker on September 15, 2026, disaggregating ICE arrest, detention, and deportation data by state, country of origin, age, and gender. Its New York finding: average monthly ICE arrests of AAPI immigrants rose to 103 per month from an average of 24 under the prior administration — a more than fourfold increase — across data running October 2022 through July 2026. Arrests of Chinese immigrants in New York rose more than tenfold, to 34 monthly from about three. Nationally, arrests of Asian immigrants rose 436% against a 219% increase overall, with California (25.2%), Texas (12.6%), and New York (9.4%) holding the largest shares. Arrests of Asian immigrants hit their highest recorded level in July 2026.

The tracker is a measurement instrument, and the structurally interesting number is the ratio, not the level: 436% against 219% overall means Asian immigrants were arrested at roughly twice the rate of the enforcement surge as a whole.
