An anonymous federal whistleblower, represented by Democracy Defenders Fund, disclosed to Congress that a USCIS Fraud Detection and National Security Directorate “Unlawful Voter Initiative” directs officers to use personal data from DHS records to access state voter-registration sites. The disclosure states “Such false representations would likely violate relevant state law,” and that each officer had a quota giving “only twelve minutes to determine if a subject is a U.S. citizen.” It says the only training was a video of approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. A DHS spokesperson told NPR: “There is no quota on criminality.”
