Homan on Fox News: Can't 'Comment on an Ongoing Criminal Investigation' of Omar, 'I Know Things Are Going On'; 'Let HSI Continue'

On Fox News, host Jacqui Heinrich played Mullin’s remarks and asked Homan whether the government has evidence Omar committed immigration or naturalization fraud. Homan: “I’m not going to comment on an ongoing criminal investigation. I know things are going on, but I can’t give specifics of what’s happening. But we’ll see… if someone committed marriage fraud or anything like that, regardless if they’re a congressman or not, no one’s above the law… We’ll let HSI, Homeland Security Investigations, continue the investigation.” Pressed (“So you’re confirming that there is an investigation”), he began “I’m confirming that ICE –” and then, “yeah. Look, I said it months ago that it’s something that’s been reported and needs to be looked at.” He added “there’s nothing political about it.”

Binding note: the Guardian prints the last line as “continue to do their investigation”; the captions read “continue the investigation.” A confirming and a not-commenting answer sit in the same exchange: Homan declines specifics, then affirms there is an investigation.
