SLF's Own Filing Shows Musk's $158 Million Passed Straight to Texas PAC, $75M on Sept 10 and $83M on Sept 24
Senate Leadership Fund’s own third-quarter report, filed with FEC on Oct 15, itemizes two contributions from Elon Musk and two matching transfers out to a new super PAC, Texas PAC. Texas PAC’s report, filed the same day, lists the same two transfers as its receipts. This replaces the press account (Texas Tribune, Oct 15) with the filings it was read from.
- Sept 9 (receipt date): Musk to SLF, $75,000,000. Sept 10 (disbursement date): SLF to Texas PAC, $75,000,000. Texas PAC reports the receipt on Sept 10.
- Sept 23 (receipt date): Musk to SLF, $83,000,000. Sept 24 (disbursement date): SLF to Texas PAC, $83,000,000. Texas PAC reports the receipt on Sept 24.
The two gifts add to $158,000,000 (my sum), and the report lists Musk’s occupation as CEO of Space Exploration Technologies Corp. Each transfer to Texas PAC follows the Musk gift by one day, and the amounts match to the dollar. Texas PAC then spent on ads against James Talarico and for Ken Paxton (see 2026-09-12–texas-pac-spends-26-9-million-on-one-day-against-talarico-first-of-three-mega-buys).
Dates are as the filers reported them: “date of receipt” for the contributions and “date of disbursement” for SLF’s transfers. They are not public-disclosure dates; the earliest filing showing any of this is the Oct 15 quarterly reports.
