On a Twitch livestream on Aug. 20, 2026 (stream date, as JTA reports it), Hasan Piker said: “If Jews in America keep putting this idea out there that they are singularly invested in Israel, eventually someone’s going to come around and take action.” JTA reports he added: “Not against the state of Israel, mind you, but against American Jews.”

A spokesperson for Sen. Jon Ossoff said he “unreservedly rejects reckless and dangerous rhetoric suggesting that policy advocacy invites violence against the Jewish community or any community.” Semafor reports that House Democrats including Leader Hakeem Jeffries accused Piker of the “malicious claim that American Jews are inviting violence against themselves,” and that Piker called that a “wild misreading” of his argument.
