Data Leak Exposes Membership of Peter Thiel's Secretive 'Dialog' Society — Bessent, Cruz, Booker, Musk, a NATO Commander, and a Stanford President on the List

On June 16, 2026, WIRED published a verified account of a data leak exposing the membership of Dialog, the invitation-only society Peter Thiel co-founded in 2006 to convene U.S. officials, foreign-government figures, and Silicon Valley executives at off-the-record annual retreats. The exposure was not a sophisticated hack: Swiss hacktivist maia arson crimew, acting on an anonymous tip, found a member/affiliate directory left readable in the HTML source code of Dialog’s own website. A source separately provided WIRED with the registration list for Dialog’s 2026 retreat — 222 people, scheduled for August 12–16 at the Powerscourt Hotel outside Dublin, Ireland. (The Stanford Daily, working from one leaked document, counted 113 named affiliates.)

The list crosses partisan and institutional lines in ways that are themselves the story. Named participants include Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ), Elon Musk, Palantir co-founder Joe Lonsdale, Stanford University president Jonathan Levin, Reid Hoffman, former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers, former HUD Secretary Julian Castro, writer Ezra Klein, and author Sam Harris, among others. Most consequentially for the national-security dimension, General Alexus Grynkewich — NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander Europe since July 2025 — is recorded as having attended Dialog gatherings since 2021. Leaked session titles from the retreats include “Navigating WWIII,” “Build-a-Cult,” “How’s Your Sex Life?,” and “Money (Does?) Buy Happiness”; the society also runs an internal matchmaking/dating function for members.

The single most structurally significant detail: none of the 222 registrants used a government email address. Sitting officials registered through personal or corporate accounts — placing their attendance, and whatever was discussed, outside the email systems subject to public-records and FOIA law. This is the social-infrastructure layer of the Thiel network the timeline already documents at the capital and state-data layers (Palantir’s federal-data fusion, Founders Fund / Anduril, the Mithril-to-HHS and Vance-VP personnel pipelines): a standing, off-the-record venue where a sitting Treasury Secretary, a NATO supreme commander, senators of both parties, and the operators of the surveillance-platform companies meet annually by Thiel’s invitation — convergence not as conspiracy but as a maintained relationship, deliberately constructed to leave no record. The leak’s value is that, for once, the record exists.
