Syria’s General Authority of Civil Aviation signed the final concession contracts for the development, expansion, construction and operation of Damascus International Airport with a consortium led by UCC Holding, with Cengiz and Kalyon of Turkey and Assets Investments of the United States. SANA’s report that day says the authority finalized the contracts, under a $4 billion agreement.

UCC’s release says the project includes a USD 250 million financing program for the purchase of new aircraft.

A later SANA item says the authority signed final contracts in December last year. Another says the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Air Transport signed final contracts on Dec. 25.
