D.R.I. Chief Judge Grants Oral TRO Ordering USDA to Distribute SNAP Funds
The Chief Judge of the District of Rhode Island held a virtual hearing and granted the plaintiffs’ request for a temporary restraining order. The court later described the ruling as having “orally ordered the Defendants to distribute funds to SNAP beneficiaries as soon as possible.” The order is documented in the court’s later written Memorandum and Order, not in a separate written ruling.
