From August 14 to September 9, 2016, Roger Stone exchanged private Twitter DMs with Guccifer 2.0, a persona US Intelligence concluded with “high confidence” was operated by Russian GRU military intelligence. On August 17, Guccifer told Stone - “please tell me if i can help u anyhow. it would be a great pleasure to me.” Stone also publicly tweeted calling Guccifer a “HERO” on August 13.
